I gave my life to Christ in October of 1969 at Miamisburg Church of Christ, in Miamisburg, Ohio. Upon graduating from high school in 1980 I moved to Macon. In 1981 I was married at Northside, placed my membership and went on to raise two sons here at Northside as well.
I was born to parents who both had music degrees and therefore music was a very big part of my upbringing. This has enabled me to use that experience and knowledge to bring glory to God through the worship and music ministry here at Northside. I believe music is a universal language that can be used to bring others to a saving relationship with Christ. This is my hope and prayer for Northside and our community.
Kevin Payton
Missions
My wife, Renée, and I are missionaries with Outreach International (oionline.org). We served in Simferopol, Crimea, Ukraine for 16 years (1998-2014) working with Ukrainian college students the first four years. The other twelve years we worked with international students from Malaysia, India, Nigeria and other countries who studied at the Crimean Medical University. We now serve in the US speaking at Bible colleges, campus ministries and churches encouraging and motivating college students and others to follow God’s call to the over 3 billion people who have never heard the Good News of Jesus.
Kevin and Renée love to to play board games such as Catan: Cities and Knights, Codenames, Carcassonne and all sorts of card games. We love to learn to play new games as well. We have four children (Tracey, Kristen, Isaac and Jacob) who are all married. We have four grandchildren - all boys - Cuinn, Evan, Eli and Liam. Kevin is a graduate of Atlanta Christian College (1992) and Emmanuel School of Religion (1997).
